"the house, the mule and the sea" by Hannes Gutberlet, Hannes Livers Gutberlet,

One mid-summer afternoon, we were surprised by an unusual rainfall. Unusual for the time of year and unusual for the Greek island of Kea. We had spent the day at our recently completed parallel-house. Together with the owner we were mesmerized by the strange light of the moment and how we could see the clouds coming towards us. Suddenly, a group of seemingly wild mules arrived at the house. We were all equally attracted and yet frightened of them. It appeared as if they were trying to tell us something, but then wandered off, as if we hadn’t understood. At one moment one of the mules placed himself in the central view of the courtyard space. A silhouette of him appeared floating between the house, the landscape and the sea. A so surreal sight and moment, we could never have imagined. And, probably, never will see again.
