Tongue n Groove is a new showroom for the architectural flooring company Tongue n Groove in Brisbane, Australia by architects Tobias Partners. The rationale for entering this is that it's a stunning space that surprises as it is almost the antithesis of a normal industry showroom. The architects wanted to make the flooring the hero of the space and so part of that is creating a roof with a series of floorboards arranged like installation art. The challenge in shooting this space was about showing the volume so I chose to shoot wide and set the camera up low and shift the lens up for composition. Matt, my assistant, is in the shot to give scale and energy but he is set to the side to be seen as ancillary or complimentary to the space rather than in the centre of the frame and a key focus.
