"Pandemic" portrays the Martin B. Retting Gun Shop in Culver City, CA. A typically quiet location, this building became an iconic representation of the panic and fear Angelenos felt on March 16, 2020 amidst the Coronavirus Global Pandemic. Patrons lined up shoulder to shoulder (despite the CDC's urging to practice extreme social distancing) to purchase personal protection. The gun shop is a somewhat out-of-place building amongst the creative offices that now inhabit Culver City. If it weren't for the massive graphics exclaiming "GUNS" you might miss it on your way to the beach. What used to be a strange little building I've passed by countless times suddenly became a shrine of safety to countless Angelenos fearing civil unrest. This is one building I never in a million years thought I'd be photographing. But here we are...
