"Convenience Store" by Jiawei Ji, ,
Boyle Heights is not the most attractive area in Los Angeles. There is no gallery or fashion store here. But I think the area is mostly closed to residents' daily lives. Unlike the fancy buildings making themselves into a spectacle, luring people to chasing the lifestyle they created, this convenience store put itself in an equal position to residents. This relationship brings their interactions closer to the essence of architecture, which is simple but touching.
Two people in costumes with masks, standing in the shade from the store. Above them is the ATM EBT DEBIT poster and MILK sign. Lottery ads, ice machines, and toy vending machines for children, everything talks about the lives here, which is so mundane but special.
