"My Dad My Mentor" by Keith Kohler, ,

This past week has been difficult watching my Dad fight for his life. He has taught me so many important life lessons. I feel very fortunate to have been able to work alongside him for most of my architectural career. When others in my graduating class went off to work at the top architectural design firms or start their own, I opted to move back home and work along side my Dad on some pretty humble projects. The life lessons I've learned from his mentoring outweigh any design award. (This picture is pinned next to my desk and is a reminder for me to pay it forward to the next generation of architects and leaders. My Dad, whom is pictured here on the ladder, died earlier this week at the age of 76.).
