"The Scheveningen Pier" by Derek Wasylyshen, ,
The Scheveningen Pier is located near the Hague in the Netherlands and is a trademark piece of architecture that illustrates the Dutch relationship between infrastructure and water. Being ocean front, the beach stretches miles along the city scape while the boardwalk pier extends 328 meters into the North Sea. The Pier is elevated from the ground, housing multiple restaurants, shops and even a gym inside. The exterior includes a boardwalk deck, a bungee jump pier with a zip line, and a 50-meter-high Ferris wheel.
Although there a lot of commodities associated with the structure, guests often come to experience captivating and powerful sunsets, as the structure almost appears to reach for the sun before it says its daily goodbye. The photo was taken from an elevated position to showcase the ability to experience the building in different ways, whether it be from different elevations and positions or pursuing different activities.
